In 2011, I was a graduate student, eager to carve out a name for myself in the field of history. I landed an internship at the William S. Hart Museum, and they handed me a real head-scratcher: dig into the life of Charles Cristadoro, an artist whose trail had gone cold since the museum opened its doors in the 1960s.
